How we work

From the first phone call to your enrollment.

  1. 01

    A 10-minute phone call

Tell us where you are. Turning 65? Already on Medicare? Helping a parent? Just curious? We'll know what to look at first.

  2. 02

    We come to your home

Brad or Stephanie drives to you. We bring the plans on paper. We compare them with your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget in mind. Most visits run an hour to an hour and a half.

  3. 03

You decide, and we enroll you

If a plan makes sense, we fill out the paperwork together. If nothing's clearly better than what you have, we'll tell you that too. Either way, you're in good hands.

Advantage vs. Supplement, the conversation everyone needs

Most folks come to us already confused about the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement. They're not bad versions of each other, they're different approaches. Here's the short version we walk through at the table:

Medicare Advantage (Part C)

A private plan that replaces Original Medicare. Often $0 monthly premium beyond what you already pay for Part B. Usually bundles Part D drug coverage. Often adds dental, vision, hearing aids, gym memberships, even some over-the-counter benefits. The trade-off: networks. You may need a referral to see a specialist. Out-of-network care can be expensive.

Tends to be a fit for folks who don't travel much, are comfortable staying in-network, and want extras for a low monthly cost.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

You stay on Original Medicare, and the supplement helps pay your share of costs (deductibles, copays, coinsurance). Freedom to choose your doctors, any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare. You add a separate Part D plan for drugs. Monthly premium is higher (usually $100–$200), but out-of-pocket costs at the doctor are very low or zero.

Tends to be a fit for folks who travel, snowbird between states, see a lot of specialists, or just want to know that whatever bill comes, it's covered.

There's no universally "right" answer, it depends on your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget. That's why we sit down with you.

What we won't do

We won't pressure you. We won't bundle our agency name with "and our partners" so a dozen call centers start phoning you. We won't tell you to switch if your current plan is best. And we won't disappear after enrollment, we'll be here next October when it's time to look again.

Common questions

Answered straight.

  • What's the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement?

Medicare Advantage (Part C) is a bundled private plan that replaces Original Medicare. It usually includes Part D and often adds dental, vision, or gym memberships, but it has a network of doctors. Medicare Supplement (Medigap) keeps you on Original Medicare and pays your share of the costs Medicare doesn't cover, with the freedom to see any doctor who takes Medicare. Which is better depends on your health, your doctors, and your budget, that's the conversation we have at your table.

  • When can I enroll or switch?

Your Initial Enrollment Period starts 3 months before you turn 65 and runs for 7 months. After that, the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15–Dec 7) lets most people change plans for the next year. The Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (Jan 1–Mar 31) gives folks already on Advantage a second window. Major life events (moving, losing other coverage) can also open a Special Enrollment Period.

  • Does it cost anything to use a broker?

Nothing to you. We're paid by the carriers when you enroll, and the compensation is the same across plans, so our only interest is finding the plan that's right for you. Your premium is the same whether you enroll through us, directly through a carrier, or through Medicare.gov.

  • I'm happy with my plan. Is it worth talking to you?

Yes. Plans change every year. Premiums go up, formularies drop drugs, networks shrink. A 10-minute review every fall makes sure you're still in the right plan, and a lot of the time, you are. We'll tell you straight.

  • Do you handle Medicare Part D (drug plans)?

Yes. We compare every Part D plan available to you using your actual medication list, not a generic estimate. The right Part D plan can save folks hundreds of dollars a year.

  • I'm under 65 and on Medicare because of disability. Can you still help?

Yes. The plan options can be slightly different but the process is the same. Give us a call.
